24Hr. Lockup
Calling all student ministries! Are you willing to
step out of your comfort zones? Are you willing to take
a chance on never being spiritually the same again?
Are you willing to be faithful to Christ’s commands?
Are you willing to serve the “least of these among us”
(Matthew 25:31-46)? Will you serve and help to take the
gospel message to one of our nation’s largest
demographics; the 2.3 million men and women who
live in the darkest, loneliest, unforgiving, dangerous,
and God-less institutions? Prison!
It is time for the Church to come together and
make a difference in this mission field. Second Heart
Ministries has designed this mission’s opportunity to be
an avenue to cooperately bring all denominations
together to meet this great need and awesome calling.
We are asking that your students dedicate themselves
to Look Up for the Locked Up in a 24-hour lock-up.
Students from all across our nation will sacrifice a
continuous 24-hour period to live in a simulated
jail/prison lock-up. During this time your students will
have a handbook to provide detailed instructions on
how to pray for the needs of those incarcerated and
their families. The Bible will bring to light truths ranging
from all Christian’s calling to be ministers of
reconciliation (II Cor. 5:18), Jesus’ encounter with the
world’s most famous thief, and the message in Heb.
13:3. Your student ministry will transform your current
facility into a temporary lock-up. Here you will
prayerfully make intercession for the lost and hurting,
asking for salvation, peace, hope, and a true and
lasting change of both heart and mind. Your students
and adults alike will learn how God has demonstrated
His love to the least of these and how He demands we
do the same. Prayerfully this mission will also help to
deter some of our students from making wrong
decisions that could resort to them being locked away.
We ask that your students solicit
donations/sponsorships for their 24-hour sacrifice.
These monies will go directly to the spreading of God’s
word throughout the prison system and to help support
those who are being released back into society. We
believe that with the combined efforts of God’s children
eternity will be amazingly different for millions. Will you
accept the challenge?
